Prague Castle Hradcany Tour / Lesser Town / Charles Bridge Prague Castle is devoted to gardens and fountains, towers and churches, palaces and summer-houses. Today the castle is primarily the residence of the President of The Czech Republic. It also includes a magnificent gallery and a treasury. During the walking tour of the castle participants enjoy several courtyards and will pass the main building and the impressive St. Vitus Cathedral before they continue to the so-called Golden lane. The lane was named after the medieval craftsmen who settled here and built their dwarf-like houses on both sides of the street in such a way that the passage between them was hardly one meter wide. At Nr. 22 Franz Kafka lived for a while. Price per person: EUR 25

Delegates will enjoy an enchanting guided tour of the Old Town, where there is a secret to discover behind every single corner. The city walk views Old Town Square providing a dazzling panorama with the most charming city streets. Every building is different in every detail – roof, windows, doors and colours. The Old Town Hall, begun in the 14th century, has developed in slow bounds, to match the municipality’s growth in size and importance. Neighbouring houses were incorporated and modifications continued to be made until the 19th century. The most obvious highlight of the Old Town Hall is its 15th century Astronomical Clock. Every hour on the hour, clockwork figures on the tower’s facade enact a timely story. The city walk then continues to the Estates Theatre, the theatre where Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” was performed the first time followed by a visit to the New Town with its popular centre: Wenceslas Square. Wenceslas Square is Prague’s answer to the Champs-Elysees where almost all the buildings were designed or remoulded in the 20th century. They include some eye opening examples of Art Nouveau and constructivist style.
This tour will lead along the rivers Moldavia and Berounka to the most impressive Bohemian gothic castle of Karlštejn. Situated on a dominating rock, surrounded by deep forests – participans walk about 20 min to reach the Royal Palace. The Karlštejn Castle was founded in 1348 by a Czech King and Roman Emperor Charles IV. in the high gothic style. It was not intended to be an emperor’s residency but, first of all, a fortress for keeping imperial crown jewels and holy relicts. During Husit wars, Czech crown jewels and the most important papers of the Czech kingdom were kept here, which were guarded almost 200 years. The castle got its today’s appearance during rebuilding in the 19th century.
p to the Prague castle as a part of Royal Way. There is a splendid selection of heraldic beasts and emblems on the houses. The finish will be famous Charles Bridge, an stone Gothic bridge connecting the Old Town and Mala Strana. It is considered as one of the most astonishing civil gothic style buildings in the world and currently decorated by a continuous alley of numerous statues and statuaries, most of them in baroque style, erected around 1700.
Decorative language of Classician and Baroque altered by winding plant subjects mosaics of glass flow or ceramics, intricately grow parts of plats contrasted by stern straight patterns, plants made of cast iron and colour glass... all those elements of Art Nouveau that came up in Prague at the end of the 19th century and was in Vienna called – Secession. This art époque at the beginning of centuries, not only influenced architecture but painting, sculpturing, photography and other applied art too. From 1905 to 1911 the probably best-known Art Nouveau building was constructed – Municipal House – “Obecní Dům”. Most impressive Art is shown to the visitors and it was been already used as a setting for numerous films.
