Call for Abstracts for Free Communications and Posters

Extended deadline for abstract submission: 15 January 2019
Notification of acceptance / rejection: March 2019

The International Scientific Program Committee of the WFSBP 2019 Congress invites you to participate actively in this congress which will be an extraordinary occasion for the exchange of thoughts and experiences. We look forward to receiving abstracts online for consideration and inclusion in the scientific programme as Free Communications or Posters.

The submitted abstracts should give a brief description of the title and topic. All abstracts will be reviewed by the International Scientific Program Committee.

The reviewers will judge the abstracts according to the relevance to the WFSBP, standard of English, objectivity of statement, description of what was done, suitability of methods to aims, conclusions confirmed by objective results, ethics, scientific value, potential clinical value, originality of work and overall impression.

All accepted abstracts will be grouped by category topics into thematic sessions and will be published online on the congress website.

The deadline for abstract submission has been extended until 15 January 2019.

Free Communications

Free Communications will be selected by the International Scientific Program Committee after abstract submissions have been reviewed. The 90-minutes sessions will be grouped by topics and chaired by selected specialists. The time slot for a single presentation in a Free Communication session is 15 minutes including discussion time.
Only 1 Free Communication abstract may be submitted per author.

Posters

Each accepted poster will be exhibited at the WFSBP 2019 Vancouver Congress at the Vancouver Convention Centre. The best posters will be grouped into thematic Guided Poster Tours chaired by renowned specialists. The Guided Poster Tours will give authors the opportunity to present their findings and discuss them with the audience.
A maximum of 2 abstracts may be submitted per author (posters and FC combined).
The congress will deliver WFSBP Young Investigator Awards for the five best posters.

Young Investigator Poster / Young Investigator Free Communication

If you are 40 years or younger at the time of the congress (i.e. born after 6 June 1978) and you would like your poster submission to be considered for a Young Investigator poster prize, please submit your abstract as a Young Investigator Poster.
Please note that even if you submit your abstract as a free communication, it might be accepted as a poster only. So for the latter case, submit your abstract as a Young Investigator Free Communication to make sure that, in case the abstract is accepted as a poster, it is considered for a Young Investigator poster prize.

Important information

Please note that accepted abstracts will be published only after completed registration and payment of the congress registration fee. The acceptance of submitted abstracts simultaneously results in binding registration of the speaker to attend the conference. The registration fee must be paid immediately after receiving the abstract acceptance, at the latest until 8 April 2019. Authors who have not paid the registration fee by that date will not be included in the scientific program. On-site registration for presenting authors is not possible.
