From the airport to the ACV

Vienna International Airport (VIE, Flughafen Wien-Schwechat) is located approximately 40 minutes / 25 km (16 miles) southeast of downtown Vienna and served by a wide variety of local, national und international airlines with direct routes to most major destinations. Vienna city centre can be reached in 16 minutes by the “City Airport Train” (running twice per hour), by metro (S7, twice per hour), train (ÖBB-Railjet) as well as by a variety of shuttle busses. Licensed taxis are available at the airport. The taxi fare is approx. EUR 35–40 per way plus gratuity.

Public transportation and taxis

Vienna has a fully integrated public transport network consisting of 5 underground lines, 28 tram routes and more than 100 bus routes. Taking the underground line 1 it only takes seven minutes to reach the Austria Center Vienna starting from Stephansplatz in the heart of the old town.

The city offers a special shuttle from the airport to any address in Vienna for a fixed price of 36,00 EUR.

Visa requirements

Citizens of all countries of the European Union, Switzerland, Croatia, Israel, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, most of the countries of North and South America, and some other countries do not need a visa; only a valid passport is required to enter Austria. Travellers requiring a visa can travel freely throughout the Schengen zone for three months with a Schengen visa issued by any Schengen country. In case of doubt please contact the Austrian Consulate or Embassy well in advance before departure.

Invitation letter

The congress office will be pleased to send a formal invitation letter to any individual requesting one. It is understood that such an invitation is intended to help potential delegates to raise funds or to obtain a visa. This does not imply a commitment from the WFSBP to provide any financial support. Invitation letters can be requested in the online registration process until 31 May 2021. The letters will be sent as e-mail attachment. If an express delivery is required, the delegate shall order a courier at her / his own expense.
